Vintage Salt Glaze 12" Tall One Handle Pottery Jug
Product Description

Vintage Pottery jug estimated to be from the late 1930's or early 1940's. It is salt glazed with a wonderful earthtone glaze. This is a 1 handle jug. This jug stands a full 12 inches tall and is roughly 3 inches in diameter. As pictured it has a concave bottom where the maker perhaps bounced it on his knee when the pot was thown. It also has swirls on the bottom from where the maker cut the jug from the wheel. There is a small chip on the bottom as pictured in the picture to the left. Click on the thumbnail. The chip seems to be invisible when the jug is standing. The jug has a great primitive feel. This piece also shows absolutely great wood fired colors. You can really tell that another piece was placed very close to this during the firing process because of the shading. Also there is a great "stacking" scar on the top making this a very unique and desireable.
